FAQ

Free Events

Lots of events in the art program are free, aside from some ticketed exceptions. The Nude Solstice Swim is free (but you do still need to register for a ticket), plus Ogoh-ogoh, and Winter Feast after 9pm. Most free events will not require tickets, so you may need to queue for an unknown amount of time. The Blue Velvet Lounge is a free hangout spot with food, drink and live music that remains open for the duration of the festival.

Print Program

A detailed breakdown of events, information, daily schedules, and maps to guide you through the darkness. To get your print program: buy one when tickets go on sale and redeem your ticket at our box offices or select festival venues. Or buy one on the ground when you get here.

Print Schedule

You can download a print version of the schedule here.

Info Booth

The info booth is a resource for maps, programs and general information from our friendly staff. Find it at Morrison St Car Park, Salamanca during the festival.

Getting Around

Wander around the waterfront and city from venue to venue, and get the blood flowing to the extremities. Check the map; festival venues are pinpointed, and most are within walking distance of the Hobart waterfront and CBD.

Mona Ferry

Mona’s super flash ferries travel between Brooke Street Pier (on the Hobart waterfront) and Mona every half hour or so. Book the ferry here.

If you are arriving by ferry: there are 99 steps up on arrival at Mona. There’s an accessible entrance via tunnel if you need it. Just make yourself known to staff onboard.

Under 18s

Events are all ages unless otherwise specified. Under 18 ticket types are available to select for each All Ages show. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Proof of age may be requested upon entry.

Cash

Dark Mofo is cashless, so make sure to bring your card. This applies to all transactions made at our box offices (including tickets, print program and band merch) and festival bars.

Lost Property

If you lose something (other than your dignity), contact Bookings & Enquiries on +61 (3) 6277 9978 or tickets@mona.net.au. Please include your full name, a contact phone number and as many details as possible about the item.

Smoking

Dark Mofo is a smoke-free event. The Winter Feast, Night Mass, and MAC2 have designated smoking areas. Look for the signs.

Covid-19

COVID-19 still exists, so stay on top of any relevant government directives.

Road Closures

There will be some road closures and traffic disruptions across the Hobart CBD during the festival. Information will be updated as the festival draws closer.
