Cassils/
Tiresias

This durational performance will see the artist press their body up against a neoclassical male torso carved from slowly melting ice. The work is inspired by the myth of Tiresias, the blind prophet of Thebes who transformed from a man into a woman for seven years. Using their body heat, Cassils recasts the myth as a tale of endurance—and a metaphor of what it takes to exist at the intersection of the masculine and the feminine.
